The first track, Sayonara Memories, radiates with a very strong, emotional feeling that rightfully deserves to be the singles’ title. Throughout the song, various instruments along with the use of sound synthesizers coexist quite nicely with the vocals, bringing much power to the song as a whole. Despite the use of various instruments, they all sound distinct and are not overshadowed by one another. As the song progresses towards the end, the build up of emotion creating a high quality song about memories of love. This song made me remember a time of love (rather a childhood crush) involving a friend I knew, but could never confess to. As we grew older, we grew apart. I feel as if this track goes perfectly with those memories. Even the instruments and sounds in the song feel fitting for all those moments. Sayonara Memories is another song that is sure to boost supercell and Nagi’s popularity and reputation as excellent contributors to music.
The next track, Oshiete Ageru (I’ll Teach You), is actually a sequel to the song, World is Mine, also by supercell. An upbeat song with great composition as all of the instruments do their job in making the song enjoyable to listen to while setting the nice upbeat feel of it. Parts where the volume of Nagi's voice rises as she sings just pack an extra punch to make you feel like rising out of your seat with fiery passion.
The final track, Yakusoku wo Shiyou (Let’s Promise), takes a step away from the upbeat, loudness of Oshiete Ageru and gives us a quiet, acoustic track. Due to this, the feelings of sadness and great emotion are highly rampant as nagi does a wonderful job conveying it through her voice as she sings these passionate lyrics.
supercell’s single, Sayonara Memories clearly gets 10/10.
I applaud supercell for being able to stir up these old emotions.
This single can be bought from amazon.jp for ¥ 1,223 (Tax Included).
The album art is quite fitting and looks good, an extra bonus to an already excellent single.
